Resume: Objective: To study the clinical, hormonal, and ultrasonographic characteristics of women with breast fibroadenoma and to evaluate the role of endocrine disorders in its pathogenesis. Eighty-four women aged 18–45 years (mean age 32.6 ± 6.7 years) with breast fibroadenoma were examined. The study included analysis of medical history, clinical and anthropometric assessment, ultrasonographic examination of the pelvic organs, breasts, and thyroid gland, as well as hormonal profiling (FSH, LH, prolactin, TSH, free T3/T4, estradiol, progesterone, and free testosterone) Ultrasonography revealed uterine endometriosis in 38% of patients, uterine fibroids in 21.4%, follicular ovarian cysts in 31%, and signs of polycystic ovary syndrome in 10.8%. Hormonal disorders were mainly represented by thyroid hypofunction (46.7%) and hyperprolactinemia (23.8%). Estradiol and progesterone levels were within reference ranges in the majority of patients.Breast fibroadenoma in women of reproductive age is associated with a complex hormonal imbalance.
